Medieval belt - the leather belt in our Larp Shop

Leather belts were as popular in use as medieval belts as they are today. We produce handmade leather belts and other leather accessories in our leather workshop in Berlin. Whether Viking belts, pirate belts, Roman belts or medieval long belts for knights and warriors can be found here. We also have narrow belts for ladies of the Middle Ages or belt systems such as the cross belt, which is like a leather harness to wear your shoulder armor. Our assortment covers a number of different historical belts like the bandoleer, corset belts for ladies, armor belts for warriors, but also leather belts for elves and other fantasy characters of the Larp. We also have western belts for cowboys. With us everyone finds the right leather belt and the suitable medieval belt to his robe.

Historical belts, from the long belt to the bandoleer

Belts were worn as early as the Neolithic Age. Braided, woven, made of leather or other materials. In the Bronze and Iron Ages they were for the first time closed with belt hooks made of bone or metal and made of metal links. The belt buckle was invented by the Romans. Belts have always served the purpose of holding clothes or objects such as swords and coin bags. Status or religion could also be marked by belts. Since the early Middle Ages belts became longer and longer. The so-called long belts were wrapped around the body several times, the long end was let hanging down in front. Often beautiful belt points were used at the hanging part for decoration purposes, as known from Viking belts. With the leather belt Reeve or Damsel you are historically accurately equipped if you are looking for a medieval belt. Also men wore rather inconspicuous narrow belts. A classic knight belt is always longer than a modern belt, on the one hand to fit easily over a gambeson and armour, and on the other hand because medieval fashion required the belt to be knotted and its end to hang in front. It was not until the Renaissance in the 18th century that wide decorative belts came into fashion like pirate belts. Wide belts were often worn as bandoleer, i.e. across the chest to carry the dagger.

The belt as a bag - where to put your belongings

In the Larp a belt is indispensable, since you almost always need a belt pouch or bag to stow your belongings. Medieval trousers, medieval dresses and medieval cloaks had no pockets. The belongings were worn hanging on the belt. The medieval belt is always visible and therefore also an essential and very decorative element of a Larp outfit. Also weapon holders are attached to belts. So it is worth to choose a robust ambience suitable medieval belt.

Larp Belt - Western Belt to Bodice Belt

Medieval belts, such as wide leather belts as pirate belts, elaborately decorated knight belts, splendidly studded Roman belts, narrow Viking belts, classic long belts of the Middle Ages, bandeliers for daggers and Western belts can be found in our Andracor Larp Shop. Every Larp character will find something here. We also have belts for ladies of the Middle Ages market or Larps like bodice belts or halfbody corsages of the Middle Ages. These also serve as light armour, as do our harness belt systems such as the three-point belt or cross belt. With both systems you can wear our leather pauldrons without having to own a complete armour set. In addition one can easily play Larp more comfortably and longer. For similar purposes we have our armoure belts, like the armour belt for dwarves. Products like this are not only made by hand in our own leather workshop in Berlin, but are characterized by their special High Fantasy Look. Not only are you well equipped with this leather belts, you are also well dressed for the battle. If you are looking for something special to round off your Larp robe, you should take a look at our leather belts. We have the right medieval belt for everyone.
