Medieval Shoes in Our Larp Shop

Medieval shoes like the classic bundschuh, Viking boots, turnshoes, pirate boots and other cuffed boots or medieval boots are important accessories for your medieval attire. A medieval costume can be as elaborate as can be, but if the right footwear is missing, it quickly appears inauthentic or unfinished, if not cheap. Of course, there are ways to disguise your normal footwear, e.g with leather gaiters. You can also wear shoes that you already have and roughly fit the image. For example, any leather dress shoes or sandals that aren't too conspicuous. Especially for women, there was and is a fairly large selection of shaft boots suitable for role-playing in normal shoe stores. But why not take the next step and get ambient-compatible medieval shoes that match the character concept for medieval markets or live role-playing games. In our larp shop at Andracor, you will find a selection of historically inspired shoes and boots to give your attire the finishing touch. The demand for historically accurate footwear is a balancing act. Historical shoes hardly meet our modern standards even in the best case. Especially smooth leather soles (mostly the rule) and lack of reinforcements e.g. at the heels take some getting used to. During the Middle Ages, most types of turn shoes were not designed for longevity. This is evidenced by various finds of garbage dumps, etc. Therefore, we offer you medieval shoes inspired by historical models but adapted to modern needs.

Medieval Boots and Shoes for Ladies and Gentlemen - Historical Footwear

Classic medieval boots and medieval shoes for ladies and gentlemen include turnshoes or reversely stitched shoes or the bundschuh. turnshoes were widely used in northern Europe during the Middle Ages. Poor people also didn't necessarily go barefoot. Wooden shoes and "bundschuhe" were widespread, but simple people also used turning shoes, although not in the same quality or with elaborate decoration as did the upper classes.
In the late Middle Ages, especially the upper class liked to wear pointed medieval shoes and boots. This also led to the development of the poulaine through oriental influences. But strap shoes or buckle shoes also became increasingly popular with the nobility. Both men and women wore these fine slippers. With the 13th century and the development of various closure methods for lacing, buttoning, or slipping in, boots also became more popular again. With the Renaissance, the development of leg boots gradually began, as worn by cavalrymen. We still see these today in every depiction of a typical sailor as pirate boots or officer boots. Of course, we also have shoes suitable as Viking boots. And if you're looking for Roman shoes, you'll find the famous Roman sandals with us.
The majority of our shoes are made of genuine leather. Leather shoes as medieval shoes are a must for many historically inclined characters. They "age" the most elegantly and, with good care, provide their wearer with a lot of pleasure for a very long time. From buckle shoes to lace-up boots, you will find various historical shoes with us.

Pirate Boots and Viking Shoes - Leather Shoes for Live Role-Playing

Whether you are looking for Roman sandals, Viking boots, princess shoes, leg boots as pirate boots, or strap shoes for noblemen and noblewomen, you will find them at the Andracor Larp Shop. We offer various shoes for all possible characters of live role-playing. Some of our leather medieval shoes complement a Viking as well as a 17th-century mercenary. Also for dwarves, humans, elves, or orcs, our medieval shoes are suitable. In the fantasy genre, there are actually no limits to use. We also offer steampunk shoes for ladies of the Victorian era, moccasins for trappers and Native Americans, as well as various boots for men and women, suitable for late medieval characters as well as soldiers, pirates, and post-apocalyptic characters.
