This 12cm large skull of a cat made from 3D-printed PLA is interesting for all witches, shamans, or even orcs and undead in LARP. The unpainted skull can easily be painted as desired and thus becomes a unique eye-catcher for your attire. But even as a standing object in the camp, the realistic cat skull makes quite an impression.

One can simply drill through the eye sockets to, for example, attach the skull to a chain or a leather cord. Its hardness also makes it suitable for decoration on armor or as the centerpiece of a barbaric headdress.

The skull is naturally vegan and has been simply printed without any animal suffering. And it is much harder than a real skull and thus will not break easily. It is available in white, black, and metallic shimmering.

Steps for painting a bone-colored skull

  • 1. Take sandpaper of a fine thickness and lightly sand the skull, especially at the back of the head on the print support surface.
  • 2. Prime the skull with some primer, this will weaken the lines of the print and the paint will adhere better.
  • 3. Prime the entire skull with a light ochre or cream tone.
  • 4. Mix the ochre with black or brown and paint the depths of the skull such as eye and nose sockets, also paint scratches or hard edges and furrows in the skull.
  • 5. Mix an even darker tone and go even stronger into the darkest areas.
  • 6. Take a lighter tone than the ochre and wipe off the paint before applying it to the high points of the skull. (Drybrushing)
  • 7. Use pure black or very dark brown for the deepest holes in the skull and very strong furrows.
  • 8. Add some additional details until you are satisfied with the painting.
  • 9. After drying, take matte or clear varnish depending on the desired look and spray or paint the skull completely. This seals the paint and the skull is ready for use in LARP after drying.
