In ancient Japan, throwing stars were primarily used to painfully distract the opponent before the actual fight began or to facilitate an escape. Depending on the region and martial arts school, the throwing stars came in various shapes and featured different numbers of blades. Our four-bladed throwing star is certainly one of the more unique examples.

The throwing star is made from high-quality foam, coated with several layers of latex. During production, a core rod is deliberately omitted to allow the user of the padded weapon to throw the foam object without causing injury.
