The models for our Shield Blank - Teardrop Shield are the shields of the early High Middle Ages that slowly displaced the previously dominant round shields. Norman knights and Byzantine warriors, in particular, are associated with this shield shape. But also, for example, the warriors of Kievan Rus and others used them.

Would you like a LARP shield with your own coat of arms or the emblem of your LARP group? But you don't feel like or don't have the option of building a shield entirely yourself? The Shield Blank - Teardrop Shield can help you! Only the painting and the attachment of the shield grip are up to you, offering you the opportunity to implement your own ideas.

The fabric surface is also more realistic than a latex or topcoat surface. Historically, many shields were also covered with canvas and then painted.

The shield blank consists of foam completely covered with robust cotton canvas. The canvas surface is excellent for painting with acrylic or tinting paint. The finished, painted shield is also much more durable than classic, latex-covered LARP shields. Especially sunlight or latex rot are completely eliminated as "shield killers"!

The structure of the blanks is stable enough to allow various grip suspension options. For example, we offer matching leather grips that can be tied to the shield. Of course, other methods also work, such as gluing wooden or plastic plates and attaching grips to them.
