This larpsword is an interpretation of a Celtic sword from antiquity. The Roman legions may very likely have made acquaintance with such swords on their military campaigns. The "horns" of the pommel give this blade its distinctive look. In fact, Celtic swords had very specially shaped hilts and parries. For the Celts, the sword, together with a long spear or long axe, was the main armament in battle. It was usually wielded one-handed in combination with a large oval painted shield.

The Celts are difficult to generalise, however, as they existed over a very long period of time and were not a single tribe, but extended throughout Europe in the form of many tribes. "Celtae" or "Galli", by the way, was the derogatory term invented by the Romans to lump together all these different tribes of Central Europe. The Galians Asterix and Obelix are probably the most prominent representatives of the Celts in pop culture.

This great, well-balanced larpsword is ideal for portraying Celtic-inspired characters. But also fantasy characters who are looking for an extravagant sword will quickly like this one-handed sword.
