Bodices found their origin in the Renaissance, beginning of the 16th century. The earlier version of today's bras was worn as a supporting undergarment and as an accentuating outer garment over a blouse. The bodice or the corsage are not to be mixed up with the stiff and strongly figure-shaping corset.

Laced bodice Ismene is cut straight, slightly longer at the hip and is laced from top to bottom. The cotton fabric is pleasant to wear.

The cotton bodice is ideal as a bodice for a pirate, but also for a maid or farmer's wife.
