The Kunai knife was actually a very common tool and weapon in feudal Japan. Craftsmen used it to work on wood or bones. As a result, it was commonly seen in the cityscape, which the ninjas took advantage of to carry a weapon without being noticed during their espionage or assassination missions. With the Kunai, they could climb walls more easily, attach it to a pole to use as a spear, or bind a chain through the ring to throw it. A long, wedge-shaped blade was typical. This Kunai knife is more of a special case, but it's a cool LARP weapon for Asian-inspired characters or even Oriental-themed pirates.
