Dry Brushing for a Realistic Metallic Look

To create the impression that the Blaster is a metal object which was painted over and now starts to wear out a little a technique called “dry brushing” is often used. First the blaster needs a basic paintjob, normally applied with spray color. For the dry brush technique apply some metallic color to a broad brush, then wipe the color off on a tissue until the brush is nearly dry. Apply the metallic color to the highlights of your object by just swiping the tip of the brush carefully over the surface multiple times. The color will stick only to the raised structures. This creates the illusion, the base color was applied to a metal onject and is now starting to wear off.

Of course the Vallejo Game Color can also be applied normally with a brush, sponge or tissue.
