No. 120345

  • Color: silver
  • Material: Steel

The Romans had mail armor (hamata) and scale armor (squamata), and the lorica segmentata was another kind of upper-body armor used effectively by the Roman army. It was standard issue in the first and second centuries AD, but never completely replaced the simpler chain mail tunic. A lorica segmentata was made of iron strips bent to encircle the body and held together by riveted leather straps and buckles. This made it difficult to put the armor on quickly, but provided impressive, reliable protection for soldiers' bodies.

Our Lorica Segmentata is the replica of a legionary's armor found in Newstead, Scotland. Even though it is made of rigid plates and weighs 7.9 kg, you'll retain a surprising amount of flexibility when wearing it.
