Decorative Weapons

A true pirate naturally has a pistol holstered, with which he can fire a shot in case of emergency. The so-called flintlock pistols are typical of the era of piracy and go perfectly with a pirate outfit. In reality, they were loaded with gunpowder, a bullet, and a piece of paper, and stuffed using a ramrod. A little gunpowder, the so-called priming charge, was sprinkled into the small side pan, and the hammer was pulled back; attached to it was a flint, which, when the trigger was pulled, sparked friction that ignited the gunpowder. Due to the pressure in the barrel, the deadly projectile then flew towards the opponent. Because they were loaded from the front through the barrel, they are also called muzzleloaders.

This flintlock mechanism is not capable of firing in our decorative pistols. At least not without modification, which is why many LARP pirates resort to decorative percussion pistols , which came later and replaced flintlocks. These functioned very similarly to flintlock pistols, except they were ignited by a percussion cap. Conveniently, our percussion pistols also function in the same way. A truly great effect in LARP.

We offer the appropriate decorative cartridges. For example, you can buy the classic Peacemaker revolver from us as a functional decorative version and load it with the also available blank cartridges. Detonators or percussion caps can then be placed on these. This way, you have an authentic loading of a Western revolver. Other revolvers we carry are decorative versions of the predecessors of revolvers that used metal cartridges. Here, too, the percussion system comes into play. Revolvers like the Colt Dragoon and later ones from the time of the American Civil War, for example, were loaded laboriously with loose powder and lead balls, not with cartridges. The decorative versions we carry can be easily equipped with percussion caps.
