Medieval Armor & Larp Armor - Armed for battle

Knight's armour is still exhibited in many castles today and one feels an uncanny fascination about them. Armour in all its countless variations has been worn by warriors, soldiers and mercenaries all over the world for thousands of years. Whether Viking armor, Roman armor, or modern armor, warriors of every era used armor to protect themselves from enemy weapons. Many factors determined what armor looked like and how well it protected the wearer against different weapons. Technology, available materials, fighting style, military tactics but also fashion and style influenced the design of armor parts.

The Roman armor of a Centurio, the ornamented Viking armor of a Jarl, or a complete Renaissance knight armor, an expensive armor has always been a demonstration of social status. The development of armor over the millennia is an exciting topic, and many live role-players read about the history of their era before choosing their armor to buy the right one at the end.

We try to offer you a nice selection for your preferences in our Larp Armour Shop. Fantasy armour, women's armour and pure larp armour is mixed with chain mail armour and historical knight's armour. But you will also find padding material for your knight armor or Viking armor here. Filter by genre if you need help choosing your Larp armor.

Larp Leather Armor from Andracor

At Andracor we pay special attention to our own Larp leather armor. It works very well as Larp armour, because it is comfortable and light and therefore can be worn for a long time. Archer armour, for example, is often made of leather because a Larp archer has to move a lot on the battlefield. A Ranger with armour brushing through the undergrowth uses leather parts, because that's quieter than metal armour. In Fantasy there are also many character concepts that prefer leather as material for their Larp armor, because it doesn't interfere with "magic" or because leather armours make less noise, unlike heavy steel knight armor.

Our Larp armour for women or men is made of high quality 3-4 mm thick upper leather, often in combination with high quality suede leather. We are increasingly working on new designs and will continue to realize ideas. It's definitely worth visiting us again and again!

The knight's armour of the Middle Ages - About the noble warrior

Knight's armour embodies the Middle Ages. A knight in shining armour is the symbol of medieval romanticism. With Andracor you can follow these models. We offer you different historical knight armor and also complete sets to represent convincing knights.

Using just parts of a knight's armor allow you to realize very different character ideas, because you can use plate parts rather minimalistically, for example by wearing only a plate collar, or you wrap yourself from head to toe in metal. Combinations are also easy to realize, because you can easily carry a pair of plate shoulders or arm splints with chain mail. If you have a full armour, you don't always have to carry it completely, but you are more or less "prepared" for all kinds of battles.

Show Combat Armor - From Larp Combat to Show Combat and Full Contact Fights

There are different requirements for show combat armour. A Larp armor has to be comfortable and safe for the wearer and his teammates. There should be no sharp edges or sharp metal spikes, which would unnecessarily endanger the players health or the padded weapons in combat. Larp armour does not have to fend off blows from steel weapons or sharp arrows and can therefore be relatively thin or unhardened.

For the show fight, on the other hand, which can often be seen on a medieval market or a renfair, different requirements apply. Here, armour must be able to withstand hits with blunt steel weapons. Most Larp armour protect the wearer naturally also against these hits, however the potential for injuries is nevertheless higher. Especially helmets and gloves gloves have higher demands on stability.

Full contact fights, i.e. fights in which blows with more or less force are to hit the opponent and which are not discussed or choreographed, place the highest demands on show combat armor. Often the knight's armour and especially the helmets are made of hardened steel, which in combination with good padding should guarantee a high degree of safety.
